Nevada State Apprenticeship

Registered Nevada State Apprenticeships are high-quality work-based learning and post-secondary earn-and-learn models that meet national standards for registration with the U.S. Department of Labor (or federally recognized State Apprenticeship Agencies). During the Nevada apprenticeship program, the apprentice will receive on-the-job learning and related instruction in all phases of the occupation necessary to develop the skill and proficiency. The apprentice will also develop and practice safe working habits and work in such a manner as to assure his/her personal safety and that of fellow workers.

Apprenticeships are happening in many industries in Nevada, the U.S. and around the world. Eligible applicants are evaluated based on test scores, an interview, past experience and education. They are then placed on a list, which is used to fill vacancies as they become available. In some cases, applicants may be directly admitted into the program. There are over 1,000 apprenticeable occupations with available opportunities.
